Senior Simulation Engineer

ARCA is delighted to be partnering with an innovative motorsport technology business that is developing next-generation simulation capabilities for professional racing teams.
Operating at the forefront of vehicle simulation and virtual race preparation, our client is building advanced simulator technology and physics-based modelling solutions that enable elite motorsport organisations to optimise performance in a fully virtual environment.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Simulation Engineer to play a key role in shaping simulator operations, technical strategy, and customer delivery.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership, you will help define and deliver the company's technical roadmap whilst leading simulator operations and supporting customer programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading simulator operations and supervising junior simulation staff.
- Developing and integrating simulator systems, including vehicle, tyre and track models.
- Optimising the simulation environment for performance, robustness and usability.
- Collaborating with modelling engineers to develop and correlate vehicle dynamics models and subsystem simulations.
- Managing and maintaining simulator facilities, working closely with technology partners and suppliers.
- Supporting, mentoring and developing simulation engineers whilst leading technical programmes and projects.
About You
We're keen to speak with engineers who have experience in high-performance simulation environments and a passion for vehicle dynamics, modelling and motorsport technology.
You will ideally have:
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience developing and operating Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulators.
- Experience within a high-performance automotive, motorsport, aerospace or advanced engineering environment.
- Strong expertise across several of the following areas:
- DiL simulators and real-time systems
- Motion cueing development
- Model integration, fitting and correlation
- HiL integration
- Control systems
- Vehicle systems modelling
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Python and C/C++.
- Exposure to simulation and modelling platforms such as Speedgoat, Concurrent, dSPACE, Modelica or Dymola would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- A highly motivated, detail-oriented and collaborative approach.
