Simulation and Software Engineering – Internship and Summer Placement

Dynisma is revolutionising the automotive and motorsport driving simulator market with its disruptive Motion Generator technology. About the team:

We are a team of engineers experienced both in the design and manufacture of driving simulators, as well as their use in vehicle development. We develop, deliver and support outstanding, ground-breaking simulators and motion generators that support the engineering that leads to winning performance on the track.

Job Purpose

As part of a highly skilled and agile multi-discipline team, you will play an integral role in the design and development of advanced simulator motion and control systems and simulations, which will be used by our customers to develop the latest race cars and automotive vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build physical models of our simulators to evaluate design options and trade-offs
  • Collaborate with experts in Electrical and Mechanical Design to design world class simulators
  • Develop software to control our simulators, both in the virtual environment and the real world
  • Integrate third-party software such as vehicle models and graphics software into our turnkey driving simulators
  • Test and develop our simulator hardware using real-time computing platforms
  • Develop in-house simulator software such as motion cueing
  • Commission our simulators, test their performance and train people to use them

Desirable Skills

  • A background in fields such as Engineering, Physics, Maths or Computer Science
  • Good communication and teamworking skills
  • Determination, independence and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Confidence in applying the fundamentals of Physics and Maths
  • Some exposure to programming languages such as Python, C++, C# and MATLAB
  • Ability to work independently and a willingness to get things done
  • A keen interest in working with the best automotive and motorsport teams

What to Expect

  • Hands on experience, running both simulations and their real-world equivalents
  • A technical grounding. You will spend most of your time working with tools such MATLAB, Simulink, Python and TwinCAT
  • An education in Simulation, Control & Vehicle Dynamics
